Technip has received an installation contract worth over EUR 20 million from EOG Resources, Inc., for the development of the Conwy field in the East Irish Sea. As per the contract, Technip will cover welding and installation of an 11.4km, 8in production pipeline and an 8in water injection pipeline which will be trenched and backfilled. They will also survey work and pre-commission the pipelines, install an 11.4km umbilical, install spools and conduct leak testing of the complete production and water injection systems. Technip’s operating centre in Aberdeen, Scotland will carry out the contract, which is scheduled for completion by the third quarter of 2012. The pipelines will be welded at Technip’s spoolbase in Evanton, Scotland and the umbilicals will be provided by the Groups’ wholly-owned subsidiary, Duco, as part of a separate contract. Vessels from the Technip fleet including the pipelay vessel Apache II and the diving support vessel Orelia, will be used for the offshore installation campaign.
