Siemens Gamesa installs 210 mts wind turbines
Siemens Gamesa has installed Asia's tallest wind turbines, with a total height of 210 metres (230 yards), in Thailand. The 33 turbines, with 153 metre-high towers and 56 metre blades, have been installed in the Sarahnlom wind farm in central Thailand, where commissioning is scheduled for later this year.
Ovako invests EUR 7.5M in Hofors ring mill
Ovako is investing EUR 7.5M in Hofors to meet demand from the energy sector, particularly in wind power. The initiative is part of a previously announced investment programme aimed at developing Ovako in Hofors in advanced applications for clean steel.
Ovako's ring mill in Hofors is a supplier of large steel rings for advanced applications.
Siemens wins first wind turbine order in Peru
A new onshore wind power plant is expected to go online in March 2014 in Peru, near the city of San Juan de Marcona. Siemens has recently received an order from the Spanish wind developer Cobra Energia for the supply, delivery and commissioning of 11 wind turbines with a total capacity of 32.
Nordex receives contract for 28.6MW project
Nordex has received a contract from AES to supply 22 wind turbines for the Drone Hill project in Scotland. Currently, AES has more than 1700MW of wind capacity in Europe, China and the United States. The company has also signed a five-year Premium Service Contract with Nordex.
Gamesa to supply turbines to Western Wind
Gamesa will supply wind turbines, with a total capacity of 10MW, for a wind farm being built by Western Wind Energy in Arizona. As per the contract, Gamesa will install five G90-2.0MW wind turbines on 78m towers in April 2011.
Phu Quy island wind power plant underway
PetroVietnam Power Corporation has begun construction on their Phy Quy wind power plant project located on Phu Quy Island in Binh Thuan. The VND 335 billion plant is scheduled for completion in February 2011.
Siemens supplies wind turbines
Dan Tysk Offshore Wind GmbH ordered 80 wind turbines from Siemens for the Dan Tysk wind farm.
USA: wind project support
GE Energy has secured contracts to supply more than 750 MW of wind turbines for new 2004-2005 projects in the US, and has received commitments for another 750 MW.
