Nordex receives contract for 28.6MW project

Nordex has received a contract from AES to supply 22 wind turbines for the Drone Hill project in Scotland. Currently, AES has more than 1700MW of wind capacity in Europe, China and the United States. The company has also signed a five-year Premium Service Contract with Nordex. The Drone Hill site is situated on the east coast of Scotland in an area characterized by high winds and subject to building height restrictions. Nordex was chosen for this contract because of their Nordex N60/1300 turbines which were ideal for these conditions. The project will be installed in two phases, with the first nine turbines scheduled to start operation in February 2012. The remaining thirteen will be installed the following August. Expected annual yield from the entire wind farm is estimated at approximately 66GW hours.
