Siemens to supply bar rolling mill to Thai Steel
Siemens Metals Technologies has received an order from Thai Steel Profile Co. (Thai Steel) to supply a new bar rolling mill for its plant in Rayong, Thailand. The rolling mill will produce around 500,000t of reinforcing steel (rebars) per annum with diameters ranging from 9mm to 40mm.
Nippon Steel & Sumikin Galvanizing (Thailand) (NSGT), established in 2011 by Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC) for the manufacture and sale of hot-dip galvanized and galvannealed steel sheets, started its commercial operation on October 1 as originally scheduled.Developed at a cost of USD 118M, NSGT has a range of equipment equivalent to that of NSSMC’s latest facility in Japan.
