SENER to rep Spain in Euro Business Awards
SENER has been chosen to represent Spain in the prestigious 2011 European Business Awards sponsored by HSBC. SENER was one of 25 Country Representatives and will now compete for a coveted Ruban d’Honneur in the next round of the competition. SENER receives contracts for five projects in Spai
SENER has won several contracts for the design and supply of solar fields in Spain including the Aste 1A and Aste 1B, Termosolar Soluz Guzmán, Consol-Orellana and La Africana plants. These fields will use the SENERtrough company-patented parabolic trough collector technology, which is already in use, to great success, at several commercial plants in operation.
Casanova heads engineering
SENER’s new head of engineering and construction area is Guido Casanova, a naval engineer graduate from the University of Sao Paolo and previous business manager for the Brazilian divisions of Pirelli Cabos S.A. and Pirelli Cables in Mexico.
SENER wins the US CSP Today Award
San Francisco-based SENER, based in San Francisco, received an award in the first edition of the US CSP Today awards in the best increased dispatchability solution category.
Deal of the Year Award 2009
The financing obtained by Torresol Energy (the joint venture between Masdar, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Mubadala Development Co., and SENER, an international multidiscipline engineering company) for the construction of the Valle 1 and Valle 2 Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) plants (in Cadiz, Andalusia) has received the ‘Deal of the Year 2009’ award in the ‘Clean Technology’ category, as part of the ‘Project Finance Deal of the Year’ awards given by the Euromoney agency, which publishes the sector’s reference journal, Project Finance.
Concentrated Solar Power plants
Torresol Energy, a joint venture between Masdar, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Mubadala Development Co., and SENER, an international multidiscipline engineering company, with offices in Abu Dhabi, has secured USD 760 million project finance loans for the construction of its twin Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) plants - Valle 1 and Valle 2 - in Andalucía, Spain.
The Netherlands: LNG terminal
The consortium made up by Sener, Techint, Entrepose and Vinci has been awarded the Gate Terminal B.V. project, whose shareholders are Royal Vopak and NV Nederlandse Gasunie, for the turnkey construction of a LNG terminal in Maasvlakte, Rotterdam.
