Dow Chem, Saudi Aramco build chemicals complex
Dow Chemical Co. has disclosed plans to build and operate a USD 20 billion Saudi Arabian chemicals complex in partnership with Saudi Arabian Oil Co. Both companies believe that this move will create one of the world's largest integrated chemical facilities.
Saudi Aramco appoints new Execs
Saudi Aramco has made four new appointments. Mohammed A. Al-Omair has been appointed vice president of Refining and NGL Fractionation; Mohammed Y. Al-Qahtani is the new vice president of Engineering and Development; Samir A. Al-Tubayyeb was appointed vice president of Employee Relations & Training; and Nabeel A. Al-Mansour will take on the position of associate general consul. Al-Omair began his 31 year career with the company in 1980 as a co-op student while completing bachelor's degree in civil engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM).
Samsung wins project in Saudi Arabia
Samsung Engineering Company has signed a USD 2.76 billion deal to build a natural gas liquid complex in eastern Saudi Arabia. As per the contract, signed with Saudi Aramco, Samsung Engineering will finish the complex in the Shaybah oil and gas field by June 2014.
