Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology has signed an agreement to acquire Allied Construction Products LLC (Allied), a US distributor of hydraulic hammers to the construction and mining industries and manufacturer of compactor plates and mounting brackets.

NACE International recently awarded its 2020 Distinguished Organization Award to Sandvik Materials Technology, and Sandvik’s Ulf Kivisäkk was also awarded the NACE Technical Achievement Award.

Dirk Stiens at Walter (Sandvik Machining Solutions) was named product developer of the year and awarded the Wilhelm Haglund Medal for the development of a new method, called ultra-low-pressure chemical vapor deposition, for applying coatings.

During March, the uncertainty around the coronavirus situation has gradually increased in many other parts of the world. Most production units in the Sandvik Group have been able to continue operating, however, due to government restrictions, the production is currently on hold in Italy, India and partially in other regions.

Sandvik Materials Technology has received large orders for advanced tubes for the energy segment. The orders were booked in the first quarter of 2020 at a combined value of about SEK 630M, with deliveries scheduled as from the second half of 2020.
