Outokumpu will deliver stainless steel to Börger GmbH. The duplex will be used to build tanks required in biogas production. This order marks Outokumpu's first order for the newly launched duplex steel grade LDX 2404®.  The steel will be produced at the Outokumpu in Avesta, Sweden. LDX 2404® is the ideal choice for the tanks due to the high corrosion resistance and superior mechanical properties of the steel.

Mika Seitovirta has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of Outokumpu by its Board of Directors. He will assume the position effective 1 April 2011, succeeding current CEO, Juha Rantanen, who will leave the position 31 March 2011. Rantanen will support the new CEO until August 2011.

An international group of students has designed and built an installation evoking the Finnish national epic Kalevala, The Shaman's Haven of the Kalevala, on the Seurasaari island in Helsinki.
