Outokumpu has won another contract for a pioneering Crescent Dunes solar plant project in Tonopah, Nevada, USA.

Mr. Olli-Matti Saksi has been appointed as Senior Vice President – Sales, Business Area Stainless Coil EMEA as of April 2, 2013. He will report to Ulrich Albrecht-Früh, President Stainless Coil EMEA.

Outokumpu Oyj and Outotec Oyj have entered into a legal dispute over invention rights related to a ferrochrome production method. Outokumpu has made the invention and has filed the patent applications related to this invention regarding the production of ferrochrome nickel.

Outokumpu’s partner in the OSTP tubular joint venture, Tubinoxia S.r.l. has exercised its call option and acquired additional 15% of the joint venture’s shares from Outokumpu. Tubinoxia, an Italian company controlled by Andrea Gatti, has thus increased its ownership in OSTP from 36% to 51%.

Outokumpu appoints Johann Steiner as Executive Vice President, Human Resources and Health, Safety and Sustainability. He will report to CEO Mika Seitovirta and become a member of Outokumpu Leadership Team.

Mrs. Tamara Weinert has been appointed as Vice President – Investor Relations at Outokumpu as of December 28, 2012. She reports to Kari Tuutti, EVP – Marketing, Communications and Investor Relations.

The European Commission has approved a merger between Outokumpu and Inoxum, the stainless steel arm of ThyssenKrupp.

After submitting a series of binding remedies to the European Commission, Outokumpu has been approved for an acquisition of Inoxum.

 Outokumpu has supplied three supporting 60-metre long bridge arches for a pedestrian and cycling bridge being built in Sölvesborg community in the south-east part of Sweden.
