OMV announces oil discovery in Barents Sea
OMV, the oil and gas company, has found oil in the Barents Sea. The exploration success has been made in the exploration licenses PL 537 which was signed in 2009. OMV (Norge) AS, operator of exploration license PL 537, is about to complete drilling operations on wildcat well 7324/8-1, Wisting Central.
Oil Discovery onshore Kenya
Tullow Oil plc has announced that the Twiga South-1 exploration well in Block 13T, onshore Kenya, has encountered 30 meters of net oil pay. The well has also encountered a tight fractured rock section with hydrocarbon shows over a gross interval of 796 meters.
Oil and gas filed comes on stream in North Sea
Production on the Visund South oil and gas field in the North Sea has been started up by Statoil and partners. Visund South is the first of Statoil's fast-track portfolio projects.
"This is a milestone," said head of field development on Visund South, Hogne Pedersen in a press release.

Tendeka has announced plans to increase activity in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
