Xodus secures TCO vibration contracts

Xodus Group has bagged two contracts for acoustic induced vibration fatigue assessments of its Tengiz complex from TengizChevrOil (TCO) in Kazakhstan. The first contract will have Xodus delivering screen assessments for the relief systems on a new high pressure steam plant, and will eventually expand to include detailed finite element analyses of fittings identified to be at risk of fatigue failure. The second contract is larger and will follow on from similar previous work on the blowdown systems for the Tengiz plant facilities.

PetroChina begins laying crude pipeline

PetroChina has begun laying a pipeline that will send crude oil from northwestern China and Kazakhstan to feed its new refinery currently under construction in southwestern Sichuan. The pipeline is scheduled to commence operation in 2012 and will wind 878km from Lanzou city to Pengzhou city in Sichuan.
