SSE selects GE turbines for Scottish wind farm

GE will supply SSE Renewables with 33 GE 2.85-100 wind turbines for the Dunmaglass Wind Farm, located near Inverness, Scotland. GE specially designed these wind turbines for the project with a 70m tower so they meet the associated planning conditions that require a maximum tip height of 120m.

GE opens expanded oil and gas facility in Hungary

GE formally opened its newly expanded oil and gas facility in Fót, Hungary. The GE Oil & Gas manufacturing plant has been substantially enlarged with the addition of a new 8,000m2 manufacturing facility and a new 3,000m2 office building.

GE to upgrade POSCO-Thainox facilities

Last year, POSCO-Thainox announced an ambitious business plan to increase annual capacity for cold-rolled stainless steel over the next four years from 200,000 tons to 300,000 tons. POSCO has contracted GE’s Energy Management Services business to upgrade their facilities with minimal interruption to their current production lines.

GE completes acquisition of Dresser

GE has closed its USD 3 billion acquisition of Dresser, Inc. Dresser is based in Addison, Texas, and has 6300 employees worldwide. With valves, actuators, meters, switches, regulators, piping products and various other products supporting compression, flow technology, measurement and distribution infrastructure, 60% of Dresser’s revenues come from outside North America.

Metso completes acquisition

Metso has announced that it has completed the acquisition of GE Energy’s Lachine Main Plant, a heavy fabrication and machining facility located near Montreal, Canada.
