Steel cutting for the first Canadian ferry
Remontowa Shipbuilding started the first steel cutting for the construction of a modern car-passenger ferry ordered by Canadian owner BC Ferries – the largest passenger ferry operator in North America and the second largest in the world – on 16 January 2015.
The contract is to build three new intermediate class vessels and includes design, construction, outfitting and carrying out of a complete trial program as well as delivery of the vessels to the home port.
The first of them will be passed to the owner in the first half of next year.
