Alstom wind tower factory in Brazil turns 1
Exactly one year ago, Alstom inaugurated its first wind tower factory in Latin America, located in the city of Canoas. The unit received about EUR 9.85M in investments and has a production capacity of 120 steel towers a year, which is equivalent to 350MW of power production.
Alstom ECO 122 wind turbines for Trairí II project
Alstom signed a contract worth approx. EUR 120M with Tractebel Energia Brasil, the private power generator in Brazil, to supply 36 units of ECO 122 wind turbines to Trairí II project, a wind farm located in Ceará State, Northeast of Brazil.
Alstom to invest in hydro power in Brazil
Alstom will establish a Global Hydro Technology Centre in Brazil, with a special focus on Kaplan turbines. Approximately EUR 6 million will be invested in this initiative. The Global Technology Centre will be located in Taubaté where the company has its biggest hydro factory, capable of manufacturing all electromechanical equipment for hydro power plants for Brazil and export.
Alstom wins wind farms contract in Brazil
Alstom has signed a contract worth almost EUR 200 million to build and service three wind farms in Brazil for Brasventos S.A., a company made up of J. Malucelli Energia (51%), Eletrobras Eletronorte (24.5%) and Eletrobras Furnas (24.5%). The wind farms, to be situated in Rio Grande do Norte State
UK: biomass processing facility
The UK's Drax Group plc and Alstom have signed a deal worth USD 100 million to build the main processing works associated with the 1.5 million tonnes per year biomass co-firing facility to be constructed at the 4000MW Drax Power Station in North Yorkshire.
Subway cars to New York City
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority Board of Directors voted to award an EUR 810 million option for 620 new heavy rail stainless steel subway cars to Alstom and Kawasaki.

Canada: HRSGS and steam turbine generator
Alstom has signed a contract with TransCanada Corp. and Halton Hills Power Partners to supply two heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) and one 300MW steam turbine generator for the Halton Hills Generating Station, located near Toronto, Canada.
