AK Steel Executive Vice President and Operating Officer, John F. Kaloski, has elected to retire from the company, effective January 31, 2014. Kaloski has been a member of the company’s executive leadership team for more than a decade.

AK Steel elected Vicente Wright to its Board of Directors, effective November 2013.

Wright previously has served as the chairman of the Board of Directors, as well as the president and CEO of California Steel Industries (CSI).

AK Steel increases stainless steel price

AK Steel will increase base prices for 200, 300 and 400 series flat rolled stainless steel products, effective with shipments on August 1, 2013. AK Steel said this increase will be achieved through a reduction in the functional discount of two percentage points for cold rolled and hot rolled non-automotive exhaust products.

AK Steel’s Sr. VP Ferrara to retire next month

AK Steel announced the retirement of Albert E. Ferrara, Jr . from the company, effective August 31, 2013. Ferrara has been with AK Steel for more than a decade, and has served as the senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) and, most recently, as the senior vice president of corporate strategy and investor relations.

AK Steel announces stainless steel price increase

AK Steel (AKS) said that it will increase base prices for all 200, 300 and 400 series flat rolled stainless steel products, effective with shipments on May 6, 2013. The company stated that this increase will be achieved through a reduction in the functional discount of two percentage points for cold rolled and hot rolled non-automotive exhaust products.

AK Steel plants honored

The Fabricators & Manufacturers Association and CNA Insurance have recognized the plants of AK Steel’s wholly owned subsidiary AK Tube LLC for their outstanding safety performances in 2008.

AK Steel surcharge

AK Steel has announced that a USD 150pt surcharge will be added to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in January 2007 and that January 2007 surcharges for the broad range of stainless steel products that AK Steel produces can be found on the company's web site.
