AK Steel broke ground for its Research and Innovation Center at a ceremony held in Middletown, Ohio. The ceremony marked the start of construction of the company’s new 135,000ft2 facility being built on a 16-acre site in the city’s Renaissance District.

AK Steel to build research and innovation centre
AK Steel announced plans to build a new research and innovation centre in Middletown, Ohio. The 120,000ft2 facility will be constructed on a 15-acre site located in the Cincinnati-Dayton growth corridor along Interstate 75.

AK Steel said that the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) reached an affirmative (4-1) final determination that the domestic industry producing non-oriented electrical steel (NOES) is materially injured by dumped and subsidised imports from six countries.
