Sulzer has signed an agreement to acquire the privately-owned pump company Hidrotecar S.A. in Burgos, Spain. The acquired company achieved sales of EUR 13 million in 2010 and employs about 50 co-workers. With this acquisition, Sulzer Pumps will add complimentary products to its products range and strengthen its presence in the water markets in Europe, Middle East, and Africa. The transaction is expected to close in January 2012 after customary conditions have been fulfilled.
