Strabag wins wastewater treatment project in Croatia

VG Vodoopskrba, the water utility company of the northern Croatian town of Velika Gorica, has picked the 36.8 million euro (USD 41M) offer of Austrian construction company Strabag, submitted in an international tender for the construction of a new wastewater treatment plant.

In the tender launched, the water utility company received three more bids submitted by three consortia, led respectively by China Road and Bridge Corporation, Germany’s WTE Wassertechnik, and Serbia’s Katago Construction.

The European Commission announced that it has approved almost 39 million euro in financing from its cohesion fund to improve the wastewater collection and treatment system in Velika Gorica.
