Steel Technologies LLC (Steel Technologies) announced that it has entrusted Fagor Arrasate for a new fully automated slitting line to be installed at its Portage, IN facility. The line will be able to process up to 72″ × 3/8″ (1850mm × 9.5mm) and will have the ability to process both steel & aluminum.
A few of the cutting-edge technologies featured in the line will be: (i) Fagor Automatic Slitter Tooling Robot – FASTR™; (ii) Automatic robotic de-banding for safely loading coils; (iii) Automatic threading cycles to minimize operator intervention with material; and (iv) Fully Automatic CNC separators throughout the tension & recoiling sections.
Fagor Arrasate has recently opened a new Technical Service Facility in Portage five minutes from the Steel Technologies site.
