Stainless steel towers at Addenbrookes

Aperam UGITOP® stainless steel shingles have been specified by RMJM Architects to clad four towers at the Medical Research Council’s Laboratory of Molecular Biology at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge. Covering 27,000m2, the towers house all heavy plant servicing the building and are linked to the main laboratory building rather than attached to it in order to remove weight and sources of vibration. A 0.7mm thickness was established for UGITOP® for the project though it was also chosen for its durable matt surface finish, high corrosion resistance, low coefficient of expansion and flatness.
