Stainless Steel production increase

The International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF) has released figures for the first nine months of 2018, showing that stainless steel melt shop production increased by 10.0% year-on-year to 39.1 million metric tons.

In Europe and the US, the production increased by 1.6%, and 4% respectively. However, China and other Asian countries registered 8.5% and 4.9% growth. The rest of the world combined registered 52.1% increase in the steel production. This suggests a positive year ahead in 2019 for stainless steel.
