“World-wide the growth in stainless steel sector is coming from consumer goods,” stainless steel analyst Markus A. Moll, said in a recent interview on the website jpcindiansteel.org. The stainless steel market is much more consolidated than that of mild steel. The stainless industry is growing much faster than the mild steel industry. The mild steel industry probably grows by 1 to 2%, with the population growth; while the stainless steel industry is growing at 5% a year and it will reach 30 million tones by 2010. The overall profitability on the stainless steel sector is much better. For the future, Mr Moll sees the growth in stainless steel as being significantly higher than mild steel & other metals.
