Stainless pipes for Chinese LNG tanker

BUTTING will supply stainless steel pipes for the first LNG tankers to be built by a Chinese shipyard. The total order value is USD 2.6 million. BUTTING, which has had a sales office in China since 2004, will supply stainless steel pipes (grade 316L and 304L) for the first LNG tankers to be built by Hudong-Zhonghua, Shanghai. The ships are scheduled to be built during 2005 and 2006. The tankers were ordered by a group of daughter companies of the China National Offshore Oil Corporation and BP, for the LNG project in Guangdong. The tankers will transport gas from the North West Shelf in Australia to the Pearl River Delta in China (province of Guangdong).
