SS 6MO stainless steel

Sandmeyer Steel Co. has added SSC 6MO to its extensive line of corrosion resistant stainless steel and nickel alloy plate and plate products. SSC 6MO is a super austenitic stainless steel containing in excess of 6% molybdenum. The alloy was developed for corrosion resistant applications in seawater and where conventional stainless steels fail due to chloride pitting and crevice and stress corrosion cracking. SSC 6MO has superior corrosion resistance to 316L, 317L, 2205, and 904L stainless steels. It can also be used as a substitute for some nickel alloys including Alloy 20, 825, Alloy G, 625 and C276. The addition of SSC 6MO will allow Sandmeyer Steel Co. to better service the air pollution control, chemical and petrochemical, food and beverage processing, offshore oil and gas production, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, power generation, pulp and paper, and seawater desalination industries. SSC-6MO will be stocked in plate thicknesses from 5mm through 51mm thick. The Company also inventories 300 series stainless steels, duplex alloys 2205, 2304, and 2507, 17 4 PH, 410, and the recently added 410S and nickel alloys 330, 400, 400AR, 600, 625, 800, 800H, 800AT and C276.
