Panzhihua Iron and Steel Group Co. (Panzhihua Steel) has ordered two continuous annealing lines for its new works in Xichang from SMS Siemag. The new annealing lines will produce more than 1.7 million mt of high-quality steel strips per year for the automotive and electrical appliances industries. The lines are expected to go into operation at the end of 2013. With an annual capacity of 923,600mt, the line No. 1 is designed for strips with a gage of 0.35 to 2.0mm and widths’ ranging from 870 to 1870mm. Line No. 2 is designed for strips with gauges from 0.3 to 2.5mm and widths between 870 and 1620mm, with an annual capacity of 816,800mt.
