SMS Elotherm, a company of the SMS Meer Business Area, has acquired the heating technology specialist IAS Induktions-Anlagen+Service GmbH, Germany.
With 100 employees in Germany and China, the company is a world leader in the field of industrial electric heating technology.
Dr. Andreas Seitze MD of Elotherm said that “IAS is an ideal complement to our product spectrum. We can now offer our customers both induction heating systems for isothermal extrusion and the corresponding systems for melting, as well as the traditional spectrum offered by Elotherm with systems for induction hardening, heating and welding.”
IAS will continue business operations under its own name. The board of management will consist of the previous IAS. Technical Director, Mr Stefan Beer, and SMS Elotherm Commercial Director, Mr Martin Schulteis.
