SENER and Techint E&C finish Gate LNG terminal

The first LNG terminal of its kind in the Netherlands has opened in Maasvlakte due to the joint capabilities of SENER and Techint Engineering and Construction, both integrated under the joint venture TS LNG. Established in 2007, TS LNG was established to develop LNG projects; they were responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction management of the Gate Terminal in the Netherlands. The CEO of Techint Engineering and Construction, Paolo Bigi, stated: “This has been a very significant achievement and a very successful test for the cooperation between Techint E&C and SENER. We trust that this project will be a strong basis for new LNG terminals around the world and for further opportunities in other fields”. Jorge Unda, Managing Director of SENER Ingeniería y Sistemas, declared: “In GATE Terminal SENER and Techint E&C have been working as a well-matched team integrated in the TS LNG consortium. This company has achieved a great performance in managing the engineering, procurement, construction and start-up of the plant. Without a doubt, TS LNG participation in this key European plant reflects its position as a company specializing in the natural gas sector”. The high-scale Gate terminal can fulfill the natural gas requirements of the entire population in Holland.
