Sánchez invest EUR 542M for desalination in Alicante

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has announced 542 million euros between 2022 and 2027 exclusively in the province of Alicante to increase the production and management of water from desalination plants.
The investments already began in December 2022 with an endowment of 30 million euros for the improvement of the desalination plant in the city of Alicante, while throughout this year the tender to expand the Torrevieja plant will be undertaken.
Sánchez recalled that in the José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero Spain stage, investment in desalination plants increased by 200 percent, while with Mariano Rajoy only 50 did so, and in recent years, “without being 7 years” of the popular ones, this last figure has been exceeded.
