Sakhalin LNG deliveries will be on time

Russia’s energy minister has assured Japan that LNG supplies from Sakhalin 2 will arrive some time in 2008, according to press reports 30 January 2007. Sakhalin-2 has already sold most of its nameplate capacity of 9.6 million metric tons per year to Japanese, South Korean and US customers. Mitsui, Mitsubishi and Shell recently agreed to sell a controlling stake in Sakhalin-2 to Gazprom for USD 7.45 billion after months of pressure from Russian environmental authorities.
