Refuse power plant in N. China

Tianjin (N. China) is holding international bidding for the construction of the first power plant fuelled by household refuse. The power plant, with a designed installed capacity of 18mw, will consume 1200 tons of household refuse, or a quarter of the city’s total garbage, daily. It is the largest nuisance-free garbage disposal project in Tianjin. Construction will cost 570 million yuan with some key equipment being imported. A city with a population of more than 10 million, Tianjin discharges 5000 tons of garbage daily, most of which is left outside.
