Power contract for North Sea platform

Dresser-Rand will supply power generation, gas export and recompression equipment for Statoil’s Kristin platform in the North Sea. The equipment will be supplied under terms of a contract approaching USD 48 million with Statoil. The company will supply two DR61GP generator sets, a DR61GP driven DATUM compressor and two DATUM compressor trains driven by electric motors to the offshore platform. D-R’s Kongsberg/Drammen facility will assemble and test the gas turbine generator sets as well as assemble the gas turbine compressor driver package. Its facility in LeHavre, France, will provide the DATUM centrifugal compressor packages. Delivery of the compressors and generator sets is scheduled for mid2003. The platform is expected to go online in 2005. Once completed, the Kristin platform is designed to deliver 35 Bcm of gas from 2005 to 2016. The gas produced will be piped through the Asgard Transport system to the KarstO treatment complex before being sent by pipeline to inland Europe.
