Recently, in the Kunming Economic Development Zone Kunming Heavy Equipment Group Longgang Park start-up plant, multiple CNC flame cutting machines and welding machines started assembly at the same time, marking the ‘low cost’ of cooperation between Yanbian County and Kunming Iron and Steel Group in Panzhihua City. The project of high-end titanium ingot casting and extension processing started, and the country’s largest titanium ingot production base will be built in Panzhihua.
The total investment of the project is yuan 500M. It plans to build 3 production lines in two years, with an annual output of 6,000 tons of titanium ingots, 1,000 tons of titanium alloys and 70 tons of high-quality spherical titanium powder. The project is divided into two implementation points. The equipment is manufactured in Kunming. The equipment is installed and produced in Yanbian County. It is expected that the first equipment will be installed in 2019 and will be fully put into operation in December 2020.
The project will fill the industrial gap of Panzhihua region with the advantages of vanadium and titanium new materials industry and advanced manufacturing industries, such as superior production capacity, high technology, and high added value, and realize the extension of the vanadium and titanium industry chain. The whole project includes three sub-projects, including the second phase of the titanium ingot project of Panzhihua Dajiang Vanadium-Titanium New Material Co., Ltd. located in Yan’an Anning Industrial Park. It will build the country’s largest titanium ingot production base and form an annual production capacity of 6,000 tons of titanium ingots.
