Outokumpu hosted a Machining Day together with IMS Nederland and IMS Belgium on April 12, 2017 in Zwijndrecht, the Netherlands to showcase Prodec stainless bars.
Prodec is Outokumpu’s proprietary stainless steel range that delivers production economy and cost savings. According to Outokumpu tests, Prodec higher machining speeds enable double tool life compared to the competing materials. When the processing time shortens, customers can optimize machining speeds to gain significant cost savings per component – depending on the application, the cost savings can be up-to 50%.
IMS will offer Prodec round bars in the complete size range from 6 mm to 100 mm and beyond if requested. Prodec range is available in grades 304L/4307, 316L/4404, 303/4305 and 17-4PH. These can be used for all kinds of machining applications such as fasteners, valves, pressure fittings, nuts, bolts and screws, gears, shafts, and bearings.
