OndoSense develop a radar solution for molten metals

OndoSense has introduced a sensor solution designed to measure molten metal levels with unparalleled precision and reliability. This durable and easy-to-maintain radar system accurately detects the levels of steel, aluminum, or copper, even in challenging conditions such as dust, fumes, vibrations, or sparks, and at temperatures up to 1600 degrees Celsius. Typically, the sensor does not require active cooling, simplifying the commissioning process.

Based on the OndoSense apex radar sensor, this solution boasts a measurement accuracy of up to 300 µm, a measurement rate of 300 Hz, and a measurement range spanning from 0.1 to 15 meters. Consequently, OndoSense offers the most precise and quickest radar sensor for liquid metal level measurement.

Beyond enhancing productivity and cost-efficiency, the OndoSense radar solution facilitates the automation of safety-critical processes, mitigating risks for operators. Moreover, it contributes to reducing CO2 emissions in the metal processing industry.
