Nuovinox(TM) agreement in Japan

Stelax Industries Ltd (USA) and Sumisho Tekko Hanbai Co. Ltd (Japan) have executed an agreement with Stelax Industries Ltd for exclusive marketing and selling representation in Japan, for Nuovinox™ stainless steel clad products (such as round bars, deformed bars and flat bars). Both parties will study the development of new product applications for Nuovinox™ in the Japanese market, and the viability of local production in Japan. In North America, Nuovinox™ has been confirmed, by various testing authorities, to have equivalent corrosion resistance to solid stainless steel. Governmental transportation agencies in more than 30 states in the USA and two Canadian provinces have approved Nuovinox™ for use on their highway and bridge construction projects. Nuovinox™ specifications are in final draft stages of approval by ASTM as well as AASHTO, specifically for “Stainless Steel Clad and Plain Billet-Steel Bars for Concrete Structures.” Nuovinox™ is also under evaluation in the UK, for CARES approval, the principal certification authority in Europe for reinforcing steels.
