Nigerian LNG expansion gets green light

Nigeria LNG Limited has awarded a preliminary letter of intent for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract of its Trains 4 and 5 expansion project also known as “NLNG Plus”, which will add 8 million tons per annum to its LNG production capacity. It was awarded to the consortium of Technip, Snamprogetti, Kellogg Brown & Root and JGC Corporation (TSKJ). The award covers site preparation and other works critical for the planned start-up of Trains 4 and 5 by mid 2005 prior to the Final Investment Decision (FID) to be taken early next year. The NLNG Plus Project, when completed will bring the plant’s overall production capacity to 17 million tons per year of LNG, 2.5 million tons per year of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and 1 million tons of condensate, establishing NLNG as one of the biggest players in the global LNG industry.
