Swagelok announces the availability of its new VCR(R) Split-Nut(TM) assembly technology to provide the semiconductor and other industries with an easier and more flexible way to connect components while reducing space requirements for system footprints. Construction materials are 17-4PH stainless steel for male and female Split-Nut assemblies and 316 stainless steel for hex collars. Swagelok’s male or female Split-Nut assemblies fit around a VCR gland, making rotatable end connections. VCR Split-Nut assemblies are easy to assemble and offer enhanced flexibility in the development and installation of gas and fluid systems, as well as in inventory control. The male Split-Nut assembly consists of two male Split-Nut halves that are pressed together to fit around a VCR gland to create a male VCR fitting end connection. The female Split-Nut assembly consists of two female Split-Nut halves and a mating hex collar. The female Split-Nut halves fit around a VCR gland, and the hex collar threads over them to create the female VCR fitting end connection.
