ENEL could invest in Bulgarian power

ENEL SpA could invest USD 300 million in four hydroelectric power stations in Bulgaria under a deal to buy the four plants, Saturday’s Il Sole 24 Ore reported citing deputy industry minister Adolfo Urso. Urso was speaking after a meeting with Bulgarian energy minister Milko Kovachev, to discuss opportunities for Edison SpA which is in contract talks on building a combined cycle electricity plant and has plans for distributing gas in the country, the newspaper said. ENEL has previously said it signed a memorandum of understanding to build three new hydroelectric power stations in Bulgaria, refurbish a further four, and was studying a possible joint venture.
