New MultiStrike® Tungsten Electrodes

After having recognised the health hazards posed by the radio toxic red tipped thoriated tungsten electrodes that are widely used in the welding industry, Huntingdon Fusion Techniques HFT® have developed MultiStrike® Tungsten Electrodes that are free from the potentially harmful thoria. With non-radio toxic rare earth elements, MultiStrike® Tungsten Electrodes can be used for welding aluminium with the AC process as well as steels and alloys with the DC process.

MultiStrike® Tungsten Electrodes contains a mix of non-radioactive rare earth elements, which dramatically lower the working temperature of the tungsten, so making it longer lasting than all other tungsten electrodes used for TIG and Plasma welding. MultiStrike® provide the TIG and Plasma welder with a safe and superior alternative. Furthermore, with its capability to weld aluminium with the AC process, MultiStrike® allows the welder to have just one type of tungsten electrode to weld all materials and reduce the amount of stocks and purchasing requisitions. Each packet comes with a traceability number to ensure that companies with a quality control procedure have traceability over another aspect of their joining processes.
