Outokumpu has released a new edition of its Low-Nickel and Nickel-Free brochure. Growing interest on the low-nickel stainless steels has been a trend during the last few years due to the strong fluctuations in nickel price. Basic information on these stainless steel grades has been given in the new edition of the brochure Low-Nickel and Nickel-free Stainless Steels. The brochure covers information on a wide range of low-nickel and nickel-free stainless steel grades. Grades included are: 1.4003 / UNS S40977; 1.4016 / AISI 430; 1.4162 / UNS S32101; 1.4318 / AISI 301LN; 1.4372 / AISI 201; 1.4509 / UNS S43940, ‘441’; and 1.4521 / AISI 444. New updates to this brochure are concerning product expansion of ferritic grades, including grade 1.4521 / AISI 444 and bright pickled surface finish 2BB available for the grade 1.4016 / AISI 430. This new mirror like surface finish is currently available in the thickness range of 0.7 to 1.0mm. Updates on the tables containing technical information have also been made.
