McDermott wins subsea contract

McDermott has won a subsea contract for a deepwater offshore engineering and construction project, including structural transportation and installation of subsea infrastructure. The contract is for the Macedon Gas Project, located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia; this will be McDermott’s first Subsea, Umbilicals, Risers and Flowlines project (SURF) in Australia. As per the contract, the company will carry out detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, transportation and installation of a 77 kilometer and 20in diameter pipeline. They will also install subsea umbilicals and flexible flowlines using vessels from the company’s diverse fleet in water depths up to 180m.
