Magnetically coupled pumps avoid downtime

A range of magnetically coupled external gear pumps offered by Tuthill Pump Group is considered ideal for water and wastewater treatment chemical metering applications. The pumps, engineered in 316L stainless steel, Hastelloy or titanium, are designed to eliminate such problems as pulsating flow, vapour locking and potential lengthy downtimes as experienced with piston and diaphragm pumps. They are also easy to control via 4 to 20mA feedback systems and are accurate to better than 1%.
By providing smooth flow, Tuthill’s external gear pumps avoid fluid agitation thereby eliminating the need for pulsation dampers. The smooth flow also makes the external gear pumps flow meter and residual measurement friendly. Vapour trapping is avoided as a result of the pumps flow-through design. The pumps have a long life expectancy – 20,000 hours – and, if there is a problem, with only two working parts they are easy to service in the field.
