Lincoln Electric achieves certification

The Lincoln Electric Company announced that its welding consumables manufacturing facility in Mentor, Ohio, has been certified to ISO 14001, an international standard for environmental management tools and systems. The Company is the first manufacturer in the welding industry to achieve this distinction.
Similar to the ISO 9000 series for quality, ISO 14001 provides a structure and a strategic approach to establishing and defining environmental plans, policies and actions.
To obtain ISO 14001 certification, an independent assessment was made of Lincoln’s Mentor plant to confirm that the processes and structured approach for environmental compliance were in place. The audit also examined continuous improvement, regulatory compliance and pollution prevention. The Certification Review Board is the registrar body that performed the assessment.
