Langley Alloys acquires

Langley Alloys (North Staffordshire, England) has announced the acquisition for an undisclosed sum of National Metal Distributors Inc. (NMD), based in Vancouver, Washington State, USA. The business has been bought from Metals Technology Inc. whose headquarters are in Albany, Oregon. NMD is a stockist and distributor of high-strength corrosion resistant alloys (CRAs). This business is currently about half the size of privately owned Langley Alloys Ltd and operates out of a modern 20,000sq/ft premises on the outskirts of Vancouver. NMD principally stocks Ferralium® in plate and sheet, bar, tube and welding wire form. There is capacity to substantially grow NMD, supported by Langley Alloy’s’ material and metallurgical supply capability, and its expertise as the original developers of the highly success range of Ferralium® CRA grades. Chris Halliday, currently Managing Director of Langley Alloys Ltd, will assume the same role in the new holding company, supported by an experienced non-executive Board. He has also been appointed President of NMD Inc.
