Letters of intent for pipelaying work and marine operations totalling some NOK 560 million have been placed by operator Statoil on behalf of the Kristin licence in the Norwegian Sea.
Allseas Marine Contractors is to install a gas export loop about 30km long from the field’s floating platform to the Šsgard Transport gas trunkline and back again. Work under this contract will be carried out in the spring of 2004. Six flowlines totalling 39km are to be installed by Coflexip Stena Offshore to tie four subsea templates back to the Kristin floater. An oil export line roughly 23km long will also be laid by the company to connect with Statoil’s Šsgard C storage vessel. This contract also embraces positioning of manifolds, umbilicals, service lines and fibre-optic cables as well as all pipeline tie-ins. The work will largely be carried out in the spring and summer of 2004, with the remainder of the tie-ins to the platform due in 2005 when this installation is due to arrive on site. Saipem has already been awarded the job of installing the four templates next spring. Statoil’s partners in Kristin are Petoro, Norsk Hydro, ExxonMobil, Agip and TotalFinaElf.
