Jacobs to supply gas injection facilities

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. has announced that a subsidiary company received a contract from ExxonMobil Production Company to provide engineering and procurement services for the LaBarge Gas Injection and Cogeneration Project at ExxonMobil’s Shute Creek Treating Facility in LaBarge, Wyoming, USA. Jacobs’ contract is valued at USD 23 million. Officials estimate completion and commissioning of the project in the fourth quarter of 2003, at which time operations will take over the facility. This project consists of the addition of 65-million-standard-cubic-foot-per-day gas injection facilities to replace the existing Claus and Tail gas sulphur recovery units. Three General Electric Frame 6B co-generation gas turbines will generate power and steam. In addition, debottleneck modifications will enhance the reliability and throughput of the existing plant. Jacobs’ Calgary office will perform this work.
