The International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF) has announced the winners of the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards in the categories Sustainability and Safety during their 23rd conference (ISSF-23) which was held in Chicago.
The ISSF introduced a Safety Award Programme which invited members to submit good ideas from their Safety Programmes. The winners are as follows:
Gold Award: Aperam â for the âleave your phone in your locker!â? project.
Silver Award: Outokumpu â for the material loading and unloading improvements.
Silver Award: NIPPON STEEL Stainless Steel Corporation â for the activities to establish heatstroke-free workplaces.
Bronze Award: Acerinox S.A. â for the use of the exoskeleton to prevent injuries.
The ISSF surveys its membership every year about best practices in Sustainability and publishes the results. These Awards have value because they are a recognition of excellence in this field, and the Certificates may be used in promotional literature.
Gold Award: North American Stainless â for the AOD dust reuse.
Silver Award: Bahru Stainless â for recovering metal and treating it as value added metal ingots.
Bronze Award: Nippon Yakin Kogyo â for the implementation of energy saving by an insulated gate bipolar transistor element.
