ISSF at SAE 2004

ISSF is to participate on the panel at SAE 2004 World Congress. The International Stainless Steel Forum and the International Molybdenum Association have bolstered their presence at SAE 2004 World Congress with participation in the “Materials Innovation Panel” on Tuesday, 9 March and the printing of a special publication by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Pascal Payet-Gaspard, commercial director of Ugine & ALZ, a unit of Arcelor, will represent the stainless steel industry on a panel covering issues facing materials suppliers and their customers. Panelists will also discuss steps suppliers are taking to address those issues. Mr Payet-Gaspard was deeply involved with the world steel industry’s Ultra-Light Steel Auto Body (ULSAB) project. The SAE will collect all ten technical papers from “Stainless Steels Applications: the New Light Weight Option” into a special publication. This will cover advances in stainless steel related to light-weight structural and crash-safety components, engine gaskets, material models for finite element simulations, corrosion testing and welding.
