ISO 50001 certification for BUTTING

In February 2015, BUTTING gained ISO 50001 certification for the first time for successful systematic energy management. The auditors believe that the energy management system introduced for this purpose for the first time in 2012 successfully implements the legal requirements and guarantees more sustainable production.

Using energy selectively and monitoring consumption continuously is an important aspect for BUTTING, especially with regard to increasing energy costs. For many years, environmental friendliness and sustainability have provided the main focus of the entrepreneurial activities. To do justice to these objectives, the business opted to design the production process in accordance with an energy management system under ISO 50001. With the start of energy management in 2012, the continuous improvement of energy efficiency, transparency in energy consumption and improved awareness among BUTTING staff were set as long-term strategic energy objectives. BUTTING already is certified for quality management (ISO 9001), environmental management (ISO 14001) and occupational health and safety management (OHSAS 18001).
