Iran: Total to develop gas field

Total has won a bid to develop Phase 11 of Iran’s South Pars offshore gas field, a senior Iranian official has said. Negotiations to develop the gas field are on the verge of being finalised with Total officials, the managing director of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), Mehdi Mirmoezi, said. He added that completion of the phase would be linked to another Iranian project on liquefied natural gas (LNG). The gas extracted during Phase 11 operations is expected to be exported to European countries. Negotiations are currently under way with officials of Shell and Repsol for Phase 13 of the project.
